Commitment To The Future
Safe Alternative to Metal Plating
VTI manufactures systems based on the process of Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD), which is a clean and safe technology. Unlike electroplating, PVD produces no harmful waste products and does not expose workers to known carcinogens, such as hexavalent chromium (Cr+6) compounds. Even as more nations restrict or ban the use of Cr+6 compounds, the demand for decorative or functional bright chrome "plating" continues to grow. VTI is responding to this global demand for bright chrome by promoting our own clean, safe, PVD metalizing technology.Leading the Effort to Eliminate VOCs
Many manufacturing operations include the steps of "painting" the substrates with a base or top coat before or after the PVD coating step. Conventional solvent-based paints contain harmful air pollutants know as Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) which are increasingly subject to government restriction. Jointly with our paint industry partners, we are leading the effort to eliminate the release of VOCs by perfecting the use of 100% solids ultraviolet light curing coatings. UV-cured coatings are being developed specifically for use with our PVD metalizing technology. This new non-polluting combination of PVD metal and UV-cured coatings is poised to revolutionize many existing production processes across numerous markets.
Environmental Citizenship
As we continue our pioneering development of new capabilities, we will keep as one of our core missions, our effort to produce, promote, and utilize environmentally-conscious equipment and practices in an effort to protect our planet for future generations.
