The first SC660 SuperChrome ™ sputtering system was recently sold to a Tier II European Automotive component supplier. With Europe’s Reach Initiative deadline rapidly approaching, Vergason Technology, Inc. has responded with the introduction of the SC660 SuperChrome™ sputtering system and SuperChrome™ PVD Coating. The SC660 system features a large coating zone, (660mm diameter by 1220mm tall), allowing for increased batch sizes and price points that are 10%-20% lower than traditional chrome plating. The SC660 integrates with SuperChrome™ PVD Coating, a revolutionary new coating which offers all of the benefits of decorative chrome plating without the harmful hexavalent chromium (CR +6) compounds. SuperChrome™ has a rich chrome appearance, is very durable and does not require a top coat. It has met or exceeded the demands of the interior and exterior automotive standards in Europe, and has significantly outperformed traditional chrome plating in the Russian Mud Test.
